Katie Deal grew up in the foothills of rural North Georgia and began her singing career at the ripe old age of eight. Her first big break was live on-air in front of a packed church, where she promptly forgot the words to "I Am a Promise". Well, she's never forgotten those words since and has let the lyrics, "I am a possibility" guide her career.
From singing at 4-H competitions and clogging at county fairs as a child, Katie has grown into a nationally acclaimed performer. Her second big break came when she landed the title role in the 2006 national tour of A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE, in which the Columbus Free Press extolled, "She's pure Patsy." Since concluding her second national tour, Katie has co-written two touring tributes honoring the legends of country music: KATIE DEAL IN TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER: A TRIBUTE TO PATSY CLINE and CLASSIC NASHVILLE ROADSHOW with Obie-award winner, Jason Petty. A lover of traditional country music, Katie is privileged to be the only person to have portrayed two Carters at the Carter Family Fold: KEEP ON THE SUNNY SIDE (Sara Carter) and RING OF FIRE (June Carter Cash). Her many sold-out performances and songwriting have earned Katie nominations for Georgia-Country Female of the Year and Georgia-Country Traditional Artist of the Year. Her most recent honor was becoming a member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame as a Hall of Honor Inductee.
